A robot allowing surgeons to operate more precisely
A robot that offers microsurgeons superhuman precision. This makes new treatments possible for conditions for which currently there are no solutions available, such as lymphoedema, caused by an abnormal build-up of lymph.
Surgeons use a joystick which scales down movements and filters out any hand trembling, allowing a stable miniaturised movement at the end of the robot arm. The robot improves the quality of operations, reducing the potential complications involved as well as the healthcare costs.
Microsure is a company that evolved from collaboration between Eindhoven University of Technology and Maastricht UMC, combining the ‘high-precision mechatronic knowledge’ from the Eindhoven region with medical knowledge from Maastricht.
